IRA Rebates
The Inflation Reduction Act offers rebates and tax credits to lower- and middle-income U.S. households for energy-efficient appliances (heat pumps, dryers, water heaters), home upgrades (insulation, wiring), and clean-energy systems. Rebates apply at purchase; credits (25C/25D) reduce taxes—eligible through 2032.
Heat Pump Water Heater – $1,750
Heat Pump (for space heating/cooling) – $8,000
Electric Service Upgrade (panel/load center) – $4,000
Electrical Wiring Repair – $2,500
Insulation, Air Sealing & Ventilation – $1,600

New York AUP
The NYSERDA Appliance Upgrade Program offers up to $840 for the purchase of a new Heat Pump Clothes Dryer. Additional funds are available for wiring and electric panel upgrades needed for the installation.
IRA Tax Credits
Coordinates the heating operation of heat pump (ducted and ductless) systems with ancillary heating systems such as fossil fuel boilers and furnaces. ICs prioritize operation of the heat pump system as the first stage of heat and rely on the ancillary system as backup or second stage of heat.
