The field documentation platform we built inside the EmPower+ program, as a contractor that installs in it every week. The photos, the paperwork, and the data — captured once, program-formatted automatically.
Ask any program contractor — the answers are always the same
Hundreds of unlabeled camera-roll photos, sorted and renamed at night, rebuilt into a PDF by hand — and one missing "existing conditions" shot means a rejection and a return visit.
The same customer's name, address, and eligibility data typed into the CRM, a form app, a contract, then back into the portal. Every re-entry is a chance for the typo that stalls payment for weeks.
Basements without signal, forms that ask about cooling systems in homes that have none, signatures on paper that has to survive the truck.
Generic form apps collect data and stop. CRMs know about projects but can't inspect a home or assemble a compliant evidence package.
NITField was built — by a contractor, inside the program — to close those gaps.
The capabilities that decide whether a program contractor gets paid on time
Every photo a technician takes is automatically labeled by measure, stamped with capture time and GPS, and classified as existing-condition or new-work evidence. On submission, NITField assembles a branded, multi-page photo report in the program's exact mandated section order — cover page, table of contents, compliance statement and all.
The package that reaches the program reviewer is the package the manual asks for — assembled before the crew leaves the driveway.
Your staff opens the enrollment on the program website with their own authorized login and copies the page — once. NITField's parsing engine extracts 25+ structured data points — applicant details, income tier, incentive caps, IRA and DAC eligibility, owner and utility information — and distributes them everywhere they're needed: the CRM record, the technician's pre-filled form, the contract.
On the way back, the completed workscope is prepared as portal-ready output, organized under the portal's own tabs in the portal's own vocabulary — 353 field mappings deep. A person stays in control of every portal interaction; NITField eliminates the retyping around it.
The flagship assessment runs 5 pages, 65 sections, and 444 data points — with conditional logic, auto-calculated fields, and 3 in-home signature captures — entirely on a technician's phone, with zero connectivity required.
A real rules engine shows, hides, and requires fields as answers come in, so a typical job presents a focused ~60-field form instead of the 444-point master. Work auto-saves every two seconds, and a guided submission check lists any missing required fields by page — tap to jump straight to each one.
Contracts, custom forms, and frictionless dispatch to subs — built into every project
7+ document types with full data merge. Renter detection auto-converts to a three-signature landlord format; signed PDFs file themselves into the project folder.
Drag-and-drop form builder with visual conditional logic, plus a PDF-overlay document designer. A new program requirement is a configuration exercise, not a software project.
Field jobs go out as secure tokenized links that open a pre-filled form — no account, no app store, no training day. Sub evidence arrives already program-formatted.
One audience, three faces — all inside or entering EmPower+
You know the pain: photo-package evenings, portal retyping, and rejection-and-return-visit cycles.
"Your final photo package, in the program's exact order, assembled before the crew leaves the driveway — and portal data entry cut from a hundred pastes to one."
HVAC, insulation, and home performance companies watching program funding and wondering if the paperwork is worth it.
"The program's requirements are already encoded in the platform. Day one, your crews photograph what the manual requires and your contracts carry the right language. The learning curve is our product."
Working under a prime contractor shouldn't require another login, another app, another training day.
"Open a link, see a pre-filled form, take the required photos, done — no account, no app store. Your evidence arrives already program-formatted."
One platform, one click at a time — a real project's journey through NITField
Copy the enrollment page from the portal once — NITField parses 25+ data points into the CRM, the field forms, and the contract. No retyping, no typos, a person in control the whole way.
Start a data-collection submission and your energy auditor gets the job on their phone. Everything works fully offline in basements and attics — forms, photos, signatures.
When the field data comes in, the audit report generates automatically — and the documents you need ride along: Test-In form, Drill & Patch authorization, generated without lifting a finger.
One click copies the customer and the approved measures into the contract; one more sends it for e-signature. Protections built in: costly panel work lets you step away with no repercussions, install-day surprises let you cancel just that measure, and renters get the three-signature landlord format automatically — all in the wording NYSERDA requires.
Weatherization sees only weatherization; the plumber sees only plumbing. Crews photograph their line items, everything traces back to the work order, and change orders get flagged.
One click assembles the final submission photos; one more sends the final sign-offs. Photos in order, contract and test-out in order — submit, and get paid.
Energy Efficiency Experts is a BPI-certified contractor installing in the EmPower+ program every week. NITField exists because we needed it — every guardrail in the platform, from renter contract detection to install-day measure cancellation to change-order flagging, is a scar earned in the field.
That's why the platform knows things generic tools can't: 85 official program measure codes across 17 categories, the mandated photo ordering, the contract language variants, and 353 portal vocabulary mappings — years of in-program experience, encoded in software.
We'll walk you through a live project, assessment to final payment: the stamped photos, the one-paste parse, the auto-assembled report. No slides, no pressure — you'll talk directly with the owner, Addans Soares.
NITField is independent software developed by Energy Efficiency Experts, a participating EmPower+ contractor. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NYSERDA. All program portal interactions are performed by authorized staff using their own access; NITField's role is parsing and distributing data around those interactions.
